Custom Orthotics FAQs: What to Know Before You Step In
Considering custom orthotics? Here are the most common questions we hear about assessment, benefits, and what to expect from your new insoles.
How are your orthotics made?
We use advanced 3D laser scanning or bio-foam moulding to take accurate measurements of your feet. Your data is then sent to our partner laboratory, where a specialist team of orthotic engineers and podiatrists custom-design your insoles.
Do I need a referral to get orthotics?
No referral is needed. You can book a consultation directly with us. Our chiropractors will assess your needs and determine whether orthotics are suitable for your condition.
How long do the orthotics last?
All of our custom orthotics come with a 10-year warranty, and the materials are built for long-term durability. Adjustments and cover replacements are available if needed and are often free of charge.
Are they comfortable to wear every day?
Yes. Once fitted properly, custom orthotics are comfortable, discreet and easy to wear daily—in work shoes, trainers, and even some slimmer styles like fashion footwear.
Will I need to change my shoes?
Some footwear may not accommodate orthotics, especially very tight or minimal shoes. However, we offer different styles of orthotics, including slimline versions for dress shoes and fashion footwear.
How soon will I feel the benefits?
Many patients notice improvements within a few weeks, especially in foot, knee or lower back pain. For others, it may take a little longer to adjust. We’ll monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed.
